Hilton hotel, Central Festival, Pattaya

The Hilton hotel is conveniently located at Central Festival shopping mall, at the heart/center of Pattaya beach.
I was pretty excited to get to know it but it turned out that the hotel just isn’t ready yet. It was the biggest dissapointment of all the hotels I visited on the last trip.

I did speak with Gerard from ABC hotel, Angeles City about the hotel before we were both flying to Thailand, he 1 day after me. He told me that they ask for joiner fees which already is enough reason for him to say an early good bye.
For me it was the extreme noise level, the window construction not being sound-proof yet that made me angry. They had opened the hotel in September 2010, so until January 2012 they really operated like this. It’s a miracle that they were able to do that over such a long time. The cold pool temperature is another miracle they could not fix over such a long time.
The powerful Central group owns the place. I mean the staff and management is friendly, they all know the problems and want to fix it but they are dependend on other people to make it happen.

I spoke with the German F&B director Mr.Bender about it, he was really friendly. I also shortly discussed the matter with the Austrian GM. They are now in the process to get new windows into most rooms, their hands were simply bound before if I understood it correctly.
I promised that once they fix these issues I will be making a booking there again. The hotel got potential : the location and design are among the very best in Pattaya.
The video shows at first their top room, a grand ocean suite room, which is priced around THB 35k++, then it shows an ocean deluxe suite for around THB 10k++ that time. If you exclude the noises, the ocean deluxe suite would have a good price/value ratio.

The design is impressive and things look modern in general. The pool is large and has an interesting form.
At the moment it seems that I still haven’t found the optimal hotel for me in Pattaya yet. Gerard, it is time for you to open an ABC hotel there…
I am unsure yet which hotel I am trying next in Pattaya, maybe I am going back to the Dusit Thani.

Sheraton hotel, Pattaya

The hotel offers 156 guestrooms and villas. I booked their top villa for 2 days, Balmy’s villa which cost me something around THB 35k++ that time. It is probably one of the most expensive stays you can book around in Pattaya the public way.

The location is isloated which is maybe the most negative issue about the place and the transport prices to Central Pattaya beach and back are overprized (THB 300 resort’s car, THB 200 Baht bus). They do offer free shuttles a few times per day to Central shopping mall but I guess mostly people dislike arranging their limited time/schedule considering their transports times.
On the other hand because of being so secluded you will maybe find there the most beautiful and peaceful resort that is currently existing in Pattaya.

The seaview is great and the view from Balmy’s villa in front of your little private pool amazing. The private pool is good for cooling down but not ideal for swimming because it isn’t very deep and large – a bit better than a plunge pool I would say.
But in terms of pools the resort scores with 3 massive pools and they are very impressive. Because of the pools, good food and seaviews I could imagine returning there for something around 2 days again. The beach there isn’t great but you have it directly in front of your nose from Balmy’s villa and a few other villa types.

I took an early flight to Bangkok from Manila and got driven to Pattaya from there. I arrived around sunset there. I liked the person introducing me to the room, he spoke in a very honest way. The butler was also very friendly, although more on the shy side.
He delivered me two Thai dishes which marked the best in-room dining experience of my last trip.

The Tom Yam Goong and the green curry were excellent and not expensive even, I think some of the most popular Thai dishes cost around THB 250 to 300. Pattaya is often underestimated for their Thai food quality. The food markets like the ones on Soi Bukaew are very good and incredible cheap. You can easily eat good Thai dishes for only THB 100 around there, only Chiang Mai might be able to beat that for the tourist world.
The breakfast there is ok and the sitting area offers a  relaxing setting like the other open restaurant at the beach as well.

The interieur is more on the old side but it is still ok. I had noticed a technical problem after check-in with the bathtub but they fixed it quick.

Security is good, there are people checking the beach and front entrance 24 hours.

The staff in general is friendly and mostly helpful but don’t expect a top 10 Bangkok standard there still.

The resort was well booked when I went there and although most places in Pattaya were rather empty, I was surprised to see so many people at their breakfast area. People really like the resort/vacation/chill-out feeling there and everyone loves the pools, especially those with families.

For me personally I liked most sitting in front of the private pool, enjoying the views/peaceful setting and knowing that the dirty nightlife is just 20 minutes away with a motorbike. Check the video :

Sometimes knowing what I could do but not doing it in the end gives me a satifying feeling.

Yes, it is a great escape to regain some energy, the other rooms/villas are priced decent as well.

During my check-out I got to know the F&B director who is an incredible friendly guy, most expats working for the better hotels of Pattaya have proved to be really helpful for me. We all do just love Pattaya and the Sheraton is certainly one of the best resorts there.

Global Nanpa : Golden Super, ep.1

Global Nanpa is back with a fresh, updated design and some new features. We are still working on more stuff which isn’t availabe yet. It will will take around another year to get some ideas implanted.
The video guide section is now much better structured than before already, thanks Ni. It is not finished yet, it will take until fall 2012 to make it better.

The last trip really broke a barrier. In general I would say : everything is possible now. I just have to decide for which action I want to spend my energy on. The old limits of money and time can hardly be felt anymore. Still, I dislike wasting resources of all means where I don’t see any value for.
Once you cross the EUR 1000 per day stay barrier you are mainly paying for having everything private for yourself and at a level beyond that (3000++) you are mainly paying for the prestige/show.

This amateur video stuff can hardly improve by me alone anymore that’s why I called for external help to hopefully bring things to a higher standard. I had worked with Jakob twice before and now we will focus on a more serious project that will take almost a year to get officially released.
I still try to involve as less people as possible here, but I had reached my own limits on the former website that’s why I asked other people for help.
There is not much time left until the next trip and I am so damn busy again with my real job that I have no idea how to release 10.000 pictures and 100 GB video material (can’t call me lazy…) from the last trip.
That’s why I decided to kick out a summary video at the beginning now because it can take some time until you see the independent videos of it.

Who knows, maybe Jakob and I get to see Brad Pitt and a big Hollywood crew next time we are out there ?! When I stayed at Six Senses Koh Yao Noi in November, the news just came in that Brad Pitt and a Hollywood crew want to rent the entire resort in December, most likely working on a massive new Thailand project. On my day of leave of Six Senses, they delayed their plans because of the current flooding problems those days in Bangkok.
Hollywood landed a big hit with Hangover 2 where the action takes place at Ritz-Carlton-Phulay Bay, Krabi and in Bangkok.
It is too funny, but Cherry (Baccara, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok) and some other people (friends of Sam/Tilac bar, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok) told me that some staff people from the Hangover 2 crew still often frequent their bars, sitting outside (not inside) the bars and barfining girls. And now you tell me that Thai bargirls aren’t a powerful weapon of mass destruction ?! LOL.

Angeles City news :
Gerard, Angeles City’s most innovative entrepreneur, from ABC (Angeles Beach Club) hotel introduced me to some of his grand plans in Makati, Manila – a real shocker, but more about that later. He actually did fly 1 day after me to Pattaya and the guy from La Pasha was on the same plane to Thailand like me.

What’s new in Bangkok :
Mr.Klingenberg (former Anantara hotel, Chiang Saen) from Muse hotel showed me around the hotel, Medici restaurant, when we accidentally ran into each other.
The Siam Hotel will most likely be opened mid of June 2012 and the Central Embassy mall / Park Hyatt hotel might be finished around end of 2013.
The new shopping mall Terminal 21, next to Sheraton hotel Sukhumvit, got an interesting airport theme.
I met plenty of cool characters and there are lots of things to report about – if I only had more time…

Cozy beach, Pratumnak Soi 5, Pattaya

This beach is located between Pattaya city beach and Jomtien in the south. You have to drive into Pratumnak Soi 5 to get there.

The beach is the best in Pattaya and it is more quiet and relaxed. I especially love the trees around. Not so many people are there because the location is a bit more isolated. Thanks A. for introducing me to this place :

Soi 6, Pattaya : May 2011

The video got shot around 6pm in May 2011. Soi 6 is supposed to be Pattaya’s naughtiest street. I don’t really think it is naughty, but it is fun walking along the street. Thai girls are the masters of entertainment. I have never taken a girl from this Soi so far. That one girl on the motorbike doesn’t look that bad though :

Dusit Thani hotel, Pattaya

The Dusit Thani in Pattaya is a big hotel with 457 beds, almost as much as in Bangkok. The place is mostly always well booked, it was fully booked when I went there. No other hotel in Pattaya generates more revenues than them. The only business I know of in Pattaya that is even more profitable is : Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.

I had some kind of sea view room there, nothing special but a good deal for money priced at around THB 6k that time. The view along the whole Pattaya beach was nice, the room is quite modern, the hotel itself looks already a bit older.

At the Dusit Club lounge, 8th flor, you get free drinks from 5.30 to 7.30pm. I always had two starter Singhas there and some fruits to compensate the vitamine loss.
The panoramic views are pretty good of the hotel. I didn’t get a chance to try their Cascade restaurant, the Chinese one, The Peak, I didn’t try as well.

The first, actually larger pool is more old-school and has a deeper water level.

The other one, Lagoon pool, is more adventureous, I went there often, moreover they have a kitchen there where I daily ate some kind of early lunch, I am not sure if that gets prepared inside of Bay restaurant. Mostly I regenerated every morning at the pool from the night before. The Dusit Thani is isolated at the one end of the beach but for relaxing it is really good and you can easily jump on the Baht busses when walking out of the gate.

The Devarana spa is great, similar like in Bangkok. The little garden behind the main lobby was a nice idea and makes it look very tropical. From the spa you can also walk into this little garden.

Every morning at 7am you can watch 9 monks getting food from the hotel. As you know all monks can go wherever they want to optain a food donation and the Dusit Thani is taking care of those 9 monks in Pattaya.
Overall a pleasent stay. The Dusit Thani fulfilled my expectations :

Global Nanpa : The Nothing Man, 1/2

Here comes the buzzer beater. This video is a summary of the best scenes of the last trip. I doubt life can get any better than that from this level on. I have never seen any other video where I saw something that I liked more than what I am doing here. For me personally I am living my dream for this moment : it is my life, my money, my time. My values might change over time and then I simply do something else later on, but right now I am very happy that I can do just that…

Pattaya Romance Galore

I am really happy with the result of this video of a 4 day stay in Pattaya. At first I thought I didn’t had much material but it turns out that this video goes deep, it is personal with sweet memories and it feels somehow very complete. It shows very well what Global Nanpa is about.

Like in Angeles City, I actually didn’t go out often in the nights. I stayed with 1 girl I met on the first night the entire time.

I really like the scenes with her on the motorbike. It expresses very well how easy it is to have fun with the Thai girls there. Moreover there are still really nice girls around who are interested in just sharing a good time together.

Best of all you recognize that it doesn’t require much money to have a smashing time in Pattaya. I spent more time in the apartment of the girl than in my hotel !
I simply liked her room. I feel more cozy in such personal rooms anyway and I think I would have never learned and experienced what I did if I had not followed the flow and had not just let go all mental restrictions. She even offered me that next time I could just check-in to her room where she pays THB 3000 per month. Sweet offer, but of course I cannot make myself too dependent. The quality of living for such a low price is very, very high in Pattaya.

The video shows a few scenes where I can explain why I love Thai girls so much. First and most important they are very cheerful and easy-going. If you cannot enjoy it with them, then I don’t know what’s wrong with you.

Second you see in one scene another Thai girl waving at us on the motorbike. Thais can be happy for other people having a good time as well and are respectful. Indonesian girls would not care and Filipinas rather bad-mouth. How about it in the western world : Fucking forget it ! Everyone fights everyone there. They try to search for failures and backwards society critique just to let them feel a little better in their miserable lives.

Third Thai’s have a general fair tendency of solving conflicts. You see the end of a fight between two drunk men there and 2 Thai girls went in there trying to calm down those two and risking of even getting hit as well. I have seen a scene like this in AC and the girls were the first ones running away. Something like this is important to me because you quickly find out there who is real and who is not.

The beach is not great but they have one. She took me to the beach everyday. At least you get cheap and tasty food there in a convenient way. It is a surprise for me that the beach is still so clean and well mantained although so many people lounge around there.
It was also my first time at Jomtien beach, this one looks very similar to me, maybe slightly better. Many retired people live there because it is just cheaper that area. I also didn’t recognize before that there is a true bar scene around Jomtien as well.
I met a guy from Switzerland in his late 30s who is the boyfriend of the sister I stayed with. He is doing some internet-bizz in Pattaya and permanently lives there now since almost 5 years already. He said before having a girl-friend he must have fucked his way through whole Pattaya, knowing mostly all faces. LOL. The only reason why he became no alcoholic is that he still has to focus on work. He said he doesn’t know many foreign resident who didn’t became an alcoholic in Pattaya. Friendships are also difficult to establish/to have in that place.
He was telling me the wildest stories of what other people experienced there. Pattaya really makes most people blind and crazy. Insane how stupid men can be when offering them cheap pussy non-stop. No wonder why the suicide rate there is higher than anywhere else in the world.
He told me of a recent story that a rich senior of the UK bought a luxury house there where his Pattaya girl-friend lives in and “waits” for him when he is working in the UK. Well, this girl was so stupid that she didn’t sneek out when she was horny and wanted to fuck around, no, she sometimes invited 3 Thai guys who fucked her orgy-like in the jacuzi of the house. When her boy-friend found out, you can bet that he wasn’t happy. Now he wants to sell the house. The Swiss guy was looking at it.
There are 2 interesting real-estate projects currently in development in Pattaya : One of it is “The urban condos“  on second road and the other one is the “Ocean 1 tower” : Ocean 1 shall will be finished around 2015 located at Jomtien beach. It would be the highest building of Thailand with a hight of 327 meters if they are able to realize the project.

Pattaya is really an all-around very convenient place to be. If you are looking for lots of fun with girls, cheap accomodations and a safe and clean beach vacation spot : here you go. Enjoy Pattaya Romance Galore :

Pattaya Pool Party

We made 2 seperate video versions for this Global Nanpa / Dusit D2 event. Special thanks to Michael and the Dusit D2 team !

The pool area of the Dusit D2 hotel is currently Pattaya’s most stylish one. It is perfect for such a pool party. I wonder why nobody in Pattaya had organized something like this before, meaning : bringing together lots of sexy girls, cool music, some MC’s and B-boys.
A general thing about Pattaya is that the vast majority of business owners there think extremely short-term and on a day-to-day basis that nobody really seems to invest (except real-estate projects) and a lot people are only extracting value. Have you ever seen a really stylish bar or restaurant with some kind of more demanding concept in Pattaya, done by an entrepreneur and not a hotel/investment group ? Well, I haven’t and Pattaya is out there since a damn long time already…I believe that the (bar) surrounding just kills most productive energy. It affects me strongly as well when being there…

Pool party’s with plenty of chicks are really popular at places like Angeles City. I don’t think I would want to organize a pool party at AC though. A few reasons speak against : First, the water quality in the pools, except the ABC hotel, I don’t consider good enough. At Wild Orchid it felt a little slimy somehow and I had weird skin feeling later, tried to take a shower afterwards but the water supply was out for 4 hours. Second, the girls at AC are cute, little honeys, but they are no coyote-showgirls, like the ones you see here in the pictures and videos. Girls of that class you could only recruit from the big cities like Manila but they in general don’t behave that well. I had a similar problem last time in Jakarta, some girls there look super-hot, I consider some Indo-girls to be the hottest I have seen in my life, but most of them just cannot dance. The Thais mostly learn that from early age, they are a party nation. Even their rallies/protests appear almost like a big party.

The B-boys “Spice” who got organized by Cherry were the surprise hit of the party. They really made an excellent show and they came in with a good vibe. Unfortunately one wood truss of the front stage broke by a crazy move/jump. You see the scene in the second video.

3 of the girls that you already know from the former videos and last party clearly made the best dance/performance.

But the water/topless action of the other girls wasn’t bad either. I am especially happy with the underwater scenes. No music video out there has included similar scenes/ideas, in the naughty way, like that one before.

Having Twopee and DJ Tob there was very cool as well. Twopee from Southside Phuket is only 20-years-old, this guy is not only a talented MC, he is also extremely funny. The Thais love him for being such a fun character. Who needs those American gangster rappers ? Twopee from his appearance is completely different, I hope he continues to focus on his fun side / Thai natural-friendly spirit. Keep it Thai, you don’t need New York City !

Twopee’s new album “Welcome to the South” should be released soon as well. Southside Phuket’s video “What’s up” became quite the success after Youtube connected it with Thaitanium’s “Long Loey” video as a next suggested video. That really broke the ice. I like Southside Phuket’s video a lot more anyway because it contains a bit of humor. Thaitanium is too much focused on the Route 66 (RCA), little teenie “fall-in-love” girls, buying force. But I respect that it works.

I am not planning to organize other events this year. One or two special projects for Global Nanpa per year is enough for me. Gladly I make more than enough money with other stuff. Someday I am going to have an update on this website, including hosting all videos and with a new theme.
