This was my 3rd time at the Lewis Grand Hotel, again I had booked a poolside jacuzi room. The rooms 001 and 002 are really convenient, you just have to walk a few steps to be at the pool, restaurant and gym.
They changed the pool area a bit : they did a good gardening job, making it more green with a few plants. If you like a peaceful/quiet pool area, the Lewis Grand hotel will not dissapoint you.
The hotel is priced ok for the standard. Owner, the young Mr. Lewis is mostly visible for his guests at the poolside restaurant. He got an open ear for problems and really listens to them. He is one of Angeles City’s driving forces. I believe AC still has enormous potential. Most important is to take away the fears of people/newbies who dream going there but are afraid of many different reasons.
My Thai airways flight to the Philippines got canceled, so I had to fly 1 day later, the airlines didn’t compensate for that. Contact availability wasn’t great at Lewis Grand, it took me 3 emails before I got a reply (took about 60 hours). The service in general is friendly but slow.
The gym is a bit out of date. When using the treadmill I had the feeling that this thing is breaking into pieces every moment, making loud noises that people at the restaurant probably could still hear. I don’t understand why animals like cats and dogs can walk around free at the restaurant area, nobody seemed to bother with that. Most angry made me that I didn’t receive my final wake up call. Of my 3 stays there I never received it at the Lewis Grand. At first I thought it was bad luck, but I am getting now more the feeling that the front desk girls occassionally play some games with the guests, so beware.
Overall the Lewis Grand hotel is one of the best places in AC. The new hotel “The Penthouse” on Santos street will most likely open early 2013. The design and concept looks promising, I am excited about it.
Global Nanpa is back with a fresh, updated design and some new features. We are still working on more stuff which isn’t availabe yet. It will will take around another year to get some ideas implanted.
The video guide section is now much better structured than before already, thanks Ni. It is not finished yet, it will take until fall 2012 to make it better.
The last trip really broke a barrier. In general I would say : everything is possible now. I just have to decide for which action I want to spend my energy on. The old limits of money and time can hardly be felt anymore. Still, I dislike wasting resources of all means where I don’t see any value for.
Once you cross the EUR 1000 per day stay barrier you are mainly paying for having everything private for yourself and at a level beyond that (3000++) you are mainly paying for the prestige/show.
This amateur video stuff can hardly improve by me alone anymore that’s why I called for external help to hopefully bring things to a higher standard. I had worked with Jakob twice before and now we will focus on a more serious project that will take almost a year to get officially released.
I still try to involve as less people as possible here, but I had reached my own limits on the former website that’s why I asked other people for help.
There is not much time left until the next trip and I am so damn busy again with my real job that I have no idea how to release 10.000 pictures and 100 GB video material (can’t call me lazy…) from the last trip.
That’s why I decided to kick out a summary video at the beginning now because it can take some time until you see the independent videos of it.
Who knows, maybe Jakob and I get to see Brad Pitt and a big Hollywood crew next time we are out there ?! When I stayed at Six Senses Koh Yao Noi in November, the news just came in that Brad Pitt and a Hollywood crew want to rent the entire resort in December, most likely working on a massive new Thailand project. On my day of leave of Six Senses, they delayed their plans because of the current flooding problems those days in Bangkok.
Hollywood landed a big hit with Hangover 2 where the action takes place at Ritz-Carlton-Phulay Bay, Krabi and in Bangkok.
It is too funny, but Cherry (Baccara, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok) and some other people (friends of Sam/Tilac bar, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok) told me that some staff people from the Hangover 2 crew still often frequent their bars, sitting outside (not inside) the bars and barfining girls. And now you tell me that Thai bargirls aren’t a powerful weapon of mass destruction ?! LOL.
Angeles City news :
Gerard, Angeles City’s most innovative entrepreneur, from ABC (Angeles Beach Club) hotel introduced me to some of his grand plans in Makati, Manila – a real shocker, but more about that later. He actually did fly 1 day after me to Pattaya and the guy from La Pasha was on the same plane to Thailand like me.
What’s new in Bangkok :
Mr.Klingenberg (former Anantara hotel, Chiang Saen) from Muse hotel showed me around the hotel, Medici restaurant, when we accidentally ran into each other.
The Siam Hotel will most likely be opened mid of June 2012 and the Central Embassy mall / Park Hyatt hotel might be finished around end of 2013.
The new shopping mall Terminal 21, next to Sheraton hotel Sukhumvit, got an interesting airport theme.
I met plenty of cool characters and there are lots of things to report about – if I only had more time…

The best and worst experiences of Angeles City bargirls
I think this is an interesting topic in general. Probably I will make this a running series for future travels. The girls mostly do have some moving stories to tell. Some girls even went through some real shit. I decided not to post some of the material I collected, so you only see the “nicer” shot at this point of time.
In this video here you see Angeles City during heavy rain and also SM Clark Mall :
Tight Pussy Alarm trilogy : Angeles City – the real Sin City (part 2 of 3)
So here is my Valentine’s special for you. Something that always amazes me in the Philippines is how content and cheerful most people are although they really don’t have any possessions. This should make one think. The per capita GDP in the Philippines is even a lot lower than in Thailand and Indonesia. Most people are simply surviving somehow, living in average 55 years maybe. Still, they probably smile more than most western people averaging maybe 75 years. And they have those exciting “happy moments”, enjoying situations, not thinking of future worries. You have to be born and grow up like that, it hardly can get learned.
The Pinays LOVE singing and karaoke. It would be rare to find a girl who does not like to sing. The Filipinas mostly do sing good, some even really good. They are more talented at that than their Thai counterparts it seems.
There is a new KTV on Fields Avenue close to 7eleven that I frequented a few times. The rooms are sweet, so are the dresses of the hostess. A girl I had known before from Camelot started working there when it opened, so I checked it out, but she quit there recently. I am a terrible singer and gladly am not trying it even when really hammered/trashed. Going there is fun because the girls always have a great time and totally open themselves.
I personally-Narcissus nomen est- like the 2nd part most :
TIGHT PUSSY ALARM trilogy : Angeles City – The real Sin City (part 1 of 3)
My recent trip was actually starting in AC although I am putting the report now at the end. I knew I needed energy for that place that’s why I put it in front. I was still very motivated shooting video and had tanked enough reserves to be able to sleep around 3-4 hours per day effectively over 1 week. Moreover I consumed alcohol like water there and trashed myself partying to the extreme every day. I am more and more getting used to it, so I am still able to control myself somehow; I even shoot video a lot better when being in my “Mars” state.
Angeles City is getting crazier every year. That place I would call DYNAMIC. Whereas all red-light districts across the whole world seem to be in decline, AC seems to be unstoppable. Lots of new places opened, of course a lot disappeared or changed names on the other hand. What’s most important : The number of visitors remained almost flat within a year whereas Thailand crashed heavily by around 25%. The Philippines are on a stronger growth trend for almost all sectors than Thailand. But the Philippines are dealing with convenience issues that will take at least 1 or 2 decades to get handled effectively : transportation and safety. I won’t go into this, I have discussed it before already.
The girls are really sweet. They are not even close as hardcore as the Pattaya Thai girls. It is a very different game. Most Pinay bargirls try to find sponsors or getting somehow out of the country, marrying a passport. The Thais love their country, they all want to stay if they could make money the same way there. I had AC and Pattaya in direct comparison and AC wins it clearly in terms of girls. Ok, you don’t find the freaks, some long-legged showgirls or the sheer amount of choice (around 30-fold more). But you get kindness, affection, some really fun evenings without getting asked for money. The framework for most Asian girls is still very similar I would say. And yes, I do love to hang out with Asian girls A LOT more than with Latinas…
Although Angeles City is growing fast, it is still 10 to 20 times smaller than Pattaya. The bars and shows in AC are way, way better and fun. Pattaya’s bars bored the shit out of me last time, sorry. It was more like : get a beer, check the selection, barfine and out to some restaurant or dance club. In AC, the bar is the event where you get entertained !
