Banging Colombia twice in Jakarta @ Malioboro
Malioboro and Stadium for me are the 2 best reasons for visiting Jakarta. Funny enough but both places are operated by the same owner and both are truely unique, you won’t find something like this anywhere else in the world.

They employ around 300 girls there, Indonesian girls in general cost IDR 800k, foreign girls around IDR 1.5 million and their superstars up to IDR 3 million for an hour.

At Malioboro they have a lot of foreign girls, only Alexis can really compete with them at foreign talent. Some of their Chinese, Russian and Colombian girls look really good. Of course I didn’t go for Thai girls there. I was also so overly satisfied with Indonesian and Chinese girls, that I opted for the curvy Latinas. Russian girls feel like German girls, I get plenty now for free back at home, so I didn’t feel tempted.

What I really like about Malioboro is that they are not fucking around, the organization is perfect, it is not dark (is it the only big spa which isn’t dark??) and I felt perfectly relaxed there, also often went into the relaxation room afterwards.

The foreign girls like those Colombian girls often have 1-year contracts. They come into the country with student visas which can be extended once after 6 months, so they get 1 year total.

The girls get 1/3 of the money they generate, the top girls average 5 customers per day. Back in Colombia, Russia or China they at first would mostly get lower rates and second and more important they would have less customers. There are just not many places in the world like Malioboro that have that immense customer inflow and it is very well organized and safe for the girls too. I clearly see the attraction.

The most remarkable place of Malioboro for me is the jacuzi area in the basement. It is not the biggest spa jacuzi area and also not the flashiest one but it is getting so god damn raunchy there. Man, sadly I could not videotape there when the girls are doing their dance rotations, they are dancing in front of this little waterfall with poles and directly between the jacuzi tanks. That can get fucking hot, they will also swim towards you, curve your lap and body when you buy them a “flower” (overprized at IDR 50k). But banging these girls downstairs is good value for money like many other people in the jacuzis told me.
The best scene of my entire Jakarta trip happened when some kind of Indonesian martial-arts-gangster-look-alike stepped into the room when I was sitting in one of the jacuzis. He first went into the steam area which has a glass front and you can also watch the action from there and on the other hand I could see him inside there. At that moment the music started pumping and the girls went grinding customers again. That heavy-tattooed “monster” was just getting warmed up and hopped around in the steam room, looking at the girls and doing some stretching moves. That scene was priceless, really hard to describe, I wish I had it on camera. Fuck, that’s why I went there.

Indonesian massage girl, in-room @ Illigals, Jakarta
They must have invested a lot of money into this building, it is huge and luxurious. All the more it is disspointing how lost guests wander around there. Organization and management needs improvement at the moment.
They have a few cool ideas like the center stage at the ground flor where girls are dancing in cages and at the pool. But it is absolutely not relaxed. You sit there in your chair or at a table with a group of people and you are miles away from the dancing girls. You can pay them extra for dancing around you, but it is just too much pressured in my opinion. Moreover it is really dark and the acustics of that massive room are not the best, so it is hard to see and hear what’s going on. I saw a few company gang people and politicians there. Jakarta is just such a fine, corrupted place.

Damn, inside this room they called up into my room twice. Maybe they heard the loud screaming of the girl and were afraid that my anaconda dick might stretch out the tight pussy of their sweetie too much, so they tried to interrupt the session. At the second call I almost smashed their phone against the wall but quickly got reasonable again, I simply pulled the cable out after that and pounded her a little overtime for revenge.

Top Gun, Blok M, Jakarta, May 2011
Top Gun is the best place of Blok M.

The bar isn’t really that big, some people might expect it to be bigger. The girls are not top-notch but it is a laid-back place where you primarily go to have some more down-to-earth fun and get away from that “only-inside-huge-buildings”, all-round entertainment, hotel shit.

It was great to see some old faces again. It seems like almost everyone there had seen my “CGK : That bule is crazy” video in its original version. People at Blok M were almost “fighting” to buy me drinks. The perks of doing this site…

Red Square, Plaza Arcadia, Jakarta
Red Square is super popular among bule, tourists and expats. At weekends it is just always packed. The place reminds me a bit of freelancer heaven Climax in Bangkok, but Climax got a friendlier vibe. The Indonesian girls dance a lot worse than the Thais…try recruiting some coyote girls there – good luck….

Immigrant, Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta
Immigrant is currently my favorite clubbing place in Indonesia. The place got really style, girls are sexier and people are in general better behaving than at the competing Dragonfly club. The sound was pretty good when I had been there, and not extremely loud, so it was still easy to have chats. The view of the terrace is spectacular. Later on I met a German entrepreneur who had been previously the former SEA director of Siemens. Cool guy.
The Immigrant visit was a surprising hit of my recent Jakarta stay.

BATS, Shangri-la hotel, Jakarta
The Shangri-la hotel is always worth a visit. The style of BATS isn’t really my thing but I have to admit that the bar is mostly full at 10pm, even often during weekdays. I met Isya there this time, on my last visit I spoke with Paul. Isya said that they must cater to a certain hotel/expat clientele mainly in their 50s. The music style also isn’t his prefered one, but the concept works and it is just very established that way.
There is an error in the video, but the quality wasn’t worth it anyway to edit it again :

Indonesian bargirl dancing @ D’s, Blok M, Jakarta
D’s is a good bar at Blok M. It used to be more raunchy a few years ago when their upstairs area was still open. Still, it remains a fun bar. They don’t have the sexiest girls, but some of the more dirty ones hang out there. Seeing bargirls dancing around like this at Blok M is most likely to happen at D’s :

Mulia hotel, Jakarta
The Mulia hotel is really popular among expats and Indonesian people as well. You will see lots of people having business meetings there. No other hotel in Indonesia has more fans probably. It is a bit strange that this isn’t the case for the more traditional Dharmawangsa hotel.

The Mulia hotel sadly is already a bit run down. The lighting everywhere is more dark, so it becomes harder to see the flaws. I think I had one of their better royal suites but still this place looked old. The carpet was pretty messed at a few spots and I got the feeling that my room was one that didn’t had much of it. The shower inside this sauna cabin and the japanese toilet might shall add some extra fun to the room. In my eyes, these gimmicks are just silly.

All hotels, not only the Mulia hotel invest a lot of money in staff people walking around and being responsible for safety/security, lots of people in the hotel seem to have a knob in the ear and are equipped with a walkie-talkie. They should use that money for rigorous trainings with the staff instead.

Like in all Jakarta hotels, it is difficult to enter and leave the hotel. There are almost no walk-paths, you are forced to take a car which I mostly dislike.

The pool and gym is ok, the spa sucks. When I was lieing everyday at the pool I felt really isolated, there is no way in and out of the hotel under 30min of wasted time; that’s why a location switch should be thought of well. Almost everyday at the pool I was just angry about the situation how much worse it felt compared with a standard, mediocre Bangkok hotel. Wherever, whenever I ordered something to eat, the food never arrived earlier than around 40 minutes after ordering which isn’t great.

I am currently doing well in the pissed mode : One of the worst things in the hotels of Jakarta in general is : it is very unrelaxed, no signs for feeling at least a little bit like a vacation, almost no easy-going people. People love to talk about what car or house they are saving for, sounds like materialistic Shanghai or HongKong – yeah, so much fun !

I came to the conclusion that in general you pay for a certain housing standard (hotels as well) around 50% more in Jakarta than in Bangkok and still important things are worse in Jakarta anyway.

Gotta keep motivating myself with this post. There is still Malioboro and Stadium in Jakarta that make a Jakarta visit worth.

I had visited the Mandarin Oriental beforehand and had a booking running with them after Bandung, but after my experience there I opted to cancel that. The Mandarin Oriental improved a lot on the staff side compared with my last visit there 2 years ago. Their “Mo bar” I also consider to be the best hotel bar in town.

It is unlikely you see me back in any Jakarta hotel except the Mandarin Oriental or the Dharmawangsa. Only for a bar stop at CJ’s I might return to Mulia hotel.

Still I give Mulia hotel an excellent ranking for Jakarta at #2. Jakarta is just weak and expensive at hospitality…

Cipto Magunkusomo hospital, University of Indonesia, Jakarta
Here is a video walk through Cipto Magunkusomo hospital which is part of the University of Indonesia. Sadly I was shooting on manual focus and didn’t recognize it before the next day. This just shows again how wasted I sometimes was. Although I saw some cute and smiling MDs crossing my way there, I had a different mission and didn’t try any kind of nanpa action.
On the picture below is Steve, one of my very best friends. He was my direct supervisor in the lab at MIT back in 2002. Damn, time is passing fast…
