These suites opened last year, 2011 and already got accepted well, at a current booking of around 75%. It was my intention to have a look a their top room, penthouse 888 which costs something around PHP 17.5k, but it was booked that time, so a friendly staff person introduced me to a balcony suite. The suites currently mark the most luxurious stay you could possibly have in Angeles City and I don’t regard it to be that expensive, the price/value is decent. I especially appreciate that the rooms are very bright and the views are good as well.
It is likely that I make a booking there next time.
The 2 guys who stayed at the penthouse 888 that time had barfined 40 girls ! But calculate, it is really not that outrageous expensive, I am sure many people could live/experience the same if they save a bit of money. Let’s say a girl in general costs PHP 1500 per day, that makes PHP 60k for all, another 17.5k for the room, maybe about PHP 40k to entertain all for a day, so total around PHP 120k for a one day, wild debauchery party – devided by half just 60k – so that’s a bit more than EUR 1000 or close to EUR 2000 when coming alone. I am sure that everyone could experience it if that’s your dream.
In the second part of the video, owner Gerard shows the new Millennium wing of the ABC (Angeles Beach Club) hotel which is really impressive. From my point of view the ABC hotel is AC’s ultimate fantasy party place. This is what people really search for in that area.
Forget Hugh Hefner’s playboy mansion and grot – this is the real party place !
Gerard’s son had the idea for the Millennium pool extension and developed the concept. He is married with a Filipina and also plays an important role for legal transactions that way.
Gerard bought together a lot of land in the Manila, Makati area. In the next few years there might be a massive USD 10 to 15 million project coming up in the area. He will also rent out places for the bars to make sure that those people don’t try to rip-off guests and to get a better degree of control on structuring things.
I am very excited about the plans, it will have a huge impact on the entire bargirl world of the Philippines. This will make Gerard to become one of the most influential red-light district entrepreneurs of entire South East Asia if things work out.
When he started the ABC hotel in 2006, people were laughing at him that he would fail…It seems that he just gets more motivated when dealing with such jealousy.
This was my 3rd time at the Lewis Grand Hotel, again I had booked a poolside jacuzi room. The rooms 001 and 002 are really convenient, you just have to walk a few steps to be at the pool, restaurant and gym.
They changed the pool area a bit : they did a good gardening job, making it more green with a few plants. If you like a peaceful/quiet pool area, the Lewis Grand hotel will not dissapoint you.
The hotel is priced ok for the standard. Owner, the young Mr. Lewis is mostly visible for his guests at the poolside restaurant. He got an open ear for problems and really listens to them. He is one of Angeles City’s driving forces. I believe AC still has enormous potential. Most important is to take away the fears of people/newbies who dream going there but are afraid of many different reasons.
My Thai airways flight to the Philippines got canceled, so I had to fly 1 day later, the airlines didn’t compensate for that. Contact availability wasn’t great at Lewis Grand, it took me 3 emails before I got a reply (took about 60 hours). The service in general is friendly but slow.
The gym is a bit out of date. When using the treadmill I had the feeling that this thing is breaking into pieces every moment, making loud noises that people at the restaurant probably could still hear. I don’t understand why animals like cats and dogs can walk around free at the restaurant area, nobody seemed to bother with that. Most angry made me that I didn’t receive my final wake up call. Of my 3 stays there I never received it at the Lewis Grand. At first I thought it was bad luck, but I am getting now more the feeling that the front desk girls occassionally play some games with the guests, so beware.
Overall the Lewis Grand hotel is one of the best places in AC. The new hotel “The Penthouse” on Santos street will most likely open early 2013. The design and concept looks promising, I am excited about it.
Skytrax on Fields is a very popular hang-out place for bargirls and local Filipino men after work. “Only” about 75% of the male guests are foreigners, I do like the mixture because it doesn’t appear that sterile.
I had always liked Skytrax and still do, especially I like the staff. There is one guy working there who looks like Danny Trejo (“Machete”). At Skytrax and Atlantis I had the best time on my recent AC stay. To be honest I only partied a single night this time in AC, let’s say I am getting more wise or just older – just cannot crash myself every day on an entire month.
This video is really crappy, I have to apologize. I was originally planning to visit it again and make a better video there, but I was already out of energy after a crazy party night. Next time…
High Society borrows a naming term that is actually better known/more used in Thailand. I liked the naming for “Forbidden City” but this time I think it just doesn’t fit into the Fields Avenue world, at least not yet.
The place is one large room that can easily be overlooked. The big danceflor in the middle is pretty cool I have to admid. However I miss the dark spots and intimacy of a disco like Skytrax. High Society just opened a few months ago, they will find their niche and maybe arrange a few things differently. Because of the good location next to Blue Nile bar, it should be a winning place anyway.
Global Nanpa is back with a fresh, updated design and some new features. We are still working on more stuff which isn’t availabe yet. It will will take around another year to get some ideas implanted.
The video guide section is now much better structured than before already, thanks Ni. It is not finished yet, it will take until fall 2012 to make it better.
The last trip really broke a barrier. In general I would say : everything is possible now. I just have to decide for which action I want to spend my energy on. The old limits of money and time can hardly be felt anymore. Still, I dislike wasting resources of all means where I don’t see any value for.
Once you cross the EUR 1000 per day stay barrier you are mainly paying for having everything private for yourself and at a level beyond that (3000++) you are mainly paying for the prestige/show.
This amateur video stuff can hardly improve by me alone anymore that’s why I called for external help to hopefully bring things to a higher standard. I had worked with Jakob twice before and now we will focus on a more serious project that will take almost a year to get officially released.
I still try to involve as less people as possible here, but I had reached my own limits on the former website that’s why I asked other people for help.
There is not much time left until the next trip and I am so damn busy again with my real job that I have no idea how to release 10.000 pictures and 100 GB video material (can’t call me lazy…) from the last trip.
That’s why I decided to kick out a summary video at the beginning now because it can take some time until you see the independent videos of it.
Who knows, maybe Jakob and I get to see Brad Pitt and a big Hollywood crew next time we are out there ?! When I stayed at Six Senses Koh Yao Noi in November, the news just came in that Brad Pitt and a Hollywood crew want to rent the entire resort in December, most likely working on a massive new Thailand project. On my day of leave of Six Senses, they delayed their plans because of the current flooding problems those days in Bangkok.
Hollywood landed a big hit with Hangover 2 where the action takes place at Ritz-Carlton-Phulay Bay, Krabi and in Bangkok.
It is too funny, but Cherry (Baccara, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok) and some other people (friends of Sam/Tilac bar, Soi Cowboy, Bangkok) told me that some staff people from the Hangover 2 crew still often frequent their bars, sitting outside (not inside) the bars and barfining girls. And now you tell me that Thai bargirls aren’t a powerful weapon of mass destruction ?! LOL.
Angeles City news :
Gerard, Angeles City’s most innovative entrepreneur, from ABC (Angeles Beach Club) hotel introduced me to some of his grand plans in Makati, Manila – a real shocker, but more about that later. He actually did fly 1 day after me to Pattaya and the guy from La Pasha was on the same plane to Thailand like me.
What’s new in Bangkok :
Mr.Klingenberg (former Anantara hotel, Chiang Saen) from Muse hotel showed me around the hotel, Medici restaurant, when we accidentally ran into each other.
The Siam Hotel will most likely be opened mid of June 2012 and the Central Embassy mall / Park Hyatt hotel might be finished around end of 2013.
The new shopping mall Terminal 21, next to Sheraton hotel Sukhumvit, got an interesting airport theme.
I met plenty of cool characters and there are lots of things to report about – if I only had more time…

This is a compilation of the best pictures of the last trip. I want to thank again all the people I met along the way and who share parts of the memory, especially Jakob.
Here comes the buzzer beater. This video is a summary of the best scenes of the last trip. I doubt life can get any better than that from this level on. I have never seen any other video where I saw something that I liked more than what I am doing here. For me personally I am living my dream for this moment : it is my life, my money, my time. My values might change over time and then I simply do something else later on, but right now I am very happy that I can do just that…
Losing the power to love : Angeles City, Philippines
I personally consider Angeles City to be the most “dangerous” place a man can possibly visit. Once you have visited that city, there is no way back and your life will change forever. You will see things a different way, you have no choice.
Some people get more mad than others. I gladly have to say that things don’t affect me as strongly anymore as in the beginning.
AC is small, nightlife is happening on Fields Avenue you see above and around Perimeter road. I would roughly estimate that at least 20 times more bargirls are working in Pattaya.
I stayed the entire time with the same girl the last visit, I have never been at AC without butterflying. I simply didn’t feel to go very wild this time. I really enjoyed the time with that sweet girl. Of my 5 days there, I actually only went out 2 1/2 days in the night ! Fucking unbelievable…
Skytrax is good as always although of course you cannot expect from AC to have a “real” disco club. It is still an all-around fun place where lots of bargirls go after work.
The LGH group made a fantastic move when buying the Dirty Duck bar. First the location is perfect next to Kokomos right in the middle of Fields, then they opened the Forbidden City right opposite to it. They can “protect” their customer clientele within this short area, trying not to lose any spent money on the way. Second I like the name and their logo. It is the coolest lady bar logo and name I have ever seen across whole SEA. Sadly most of the better girls got raided from bar and they didn’t had good replacements there anymore while I visited it. Too bad.
Things in general were very different than before, it was really good to barhop a lot.
Below you see Golden Nile, they have some lookers, but it is difficult to enjoy myself there somehow, so I actually never stayed long, no cozy spots around. Some of my best pictures I took in AC. There is a pure picture video coming up as well.
Crystal Palace I liked very much. They had some of the best dancing groups of AC last times. It is fun to watch their show.
I also think that Pony Tails is very much underestimated. I really love the setting, cowboy salon-type. If they would put there a few more hot girls, I would hang out there a lot.
What would be Angeles City without Western Union ? I don’t know when the whole sponsor game started in AC but it is not a good development. In Thailand the sponsoring is well established since a long time already. In AC I find the situation even more ugly because the girls just play even more dirty than in Thailand from my point of view. Thai girls talk their way out or won’t confront the sponsor directly with lies, it is more a tricky game how they behave. The Filipina behaves more snake like, directly lieing and directly demanding. The first day a girl starts in the bar there she is lost, you are fool if you think you will ever be able to change it. In most cases she will never be able to do a normal job after that anymore. The same story I hear from the friends in Pattaya : once the girls figure out how easy it is make money with men, do you think they will ever go back to a really brutal job where they only make about 10% of the money before ?
The story of this girl is tragic like so many others. She never really did something wrong in the first place. She comes from a farming family, worked for a richer household in Manila as a teen. The lady there kicked her out of the house one day for no reasons, probably because of being jealous of her. With no money she called a friend, at least she thought he would be one. This guy drove her directly to AC where she started working as a cherry girl. One Korean offered paying Pesos 150k for her cherry but she was undecided. At one night this Korean made her drunk, booked a room at Fontana hotel, took her cherry and disappeared…without paying ! If this guy ever shows up again, you can guess what happens with him…
Sometimes I think it is better if you don’t hear all such stories because it is a fun spoiler. In that regard it makes very much sense to butterfly all nights. Everyone has to find his own way in AC. It is clearly a place that very seriously can make you lose the power to love :
2 horny bargirls shakin’ their asian booty @ Atlantis, Angeles City
It’s time to get a little bit more naughty. Have a look at those two fine Atlantis spotlight dancers. They really know how to shake their booties. It is hard to say which bars in AC are currently rocking and which not. I would say things are more uncertain there than in Pattaya which means bar-hopping makes a lot sense.
The pick-up for the hash starts from Anchorage Inn. Ask for more details there.
After day 3 of my time there, I thought I would go mad If I would only stay 1 more afternoon inside of my hotel room. The dangerous thing is that there is really NOTHING to do at this place except lounging out at the pool, going to the shopping malls or walking up and down Fields Avenue and Perimeter Road. Most people end up sitting in the bars or at the pool, drinking – there is no way around it. I haven’t seen many residents there who managed not to become alcoholics. The heat/humidity and pollution kill positive thoughts of doing real stuff outside.
It was just day 4 for me when I did the hike, we did it quite slowly as I was there with a girl, but it still made me breath because of the humidity. Moreover we also got lost once but got back on track fast. The nature around Angeles City is really beautiful, much more green and exciting than what Pattaya has to offer around it – although they got the beach of course.
I would advice to make real everyday plans for AC and to stick with it like going to the gym at a certain point of time, etc. Once you lose the focus, the danger is high you go down the toilet. Check this link for daytime activities.
The residents and expats around there are very friendly and helpful. The hash was a good nature experience for seeing a little more of the area. I hope I can explore other areas with the ABC helicopter from AC. I also went to Fontana Water Park which you see in a later video.
